New old project-1946 Austin gasser
Met up with my other painter this morning at breakfast/car get together and he's coming over this week to look at the Austin and see if we can work something out. He does some really high end "perfect" work, so hope we can work something out to get a decent average paint job I can enjoy!
thats good val hope the new guy comes thru for you,u have put alot of hard work in mouse trap,im sure u guys can come to an agreement i hope cant wait to see mousetrap back on the road again better than ever.
Thanks. We talked yesterday on the phone. His kids are out of school and his hotrod business is at his home shop, so he can't get away until next Tuesday when they go back to school. He's coming by after they go to school to look at the Austin and give me an idea of the cost.
Just when I thought I was really getting the body straight, and close! The sun came out today, so I opened up the back door to the canopy to get fresh air and light in while I sanded and blew out the dust.
With the extra light I looked down those flat doors, and I see several small dings that didn't show while sanding! Crap!!!!! I'm sure getting tired of looking, and I may just point them out to the painter and let him address them. This bodywork is getting old; I want to get my hands greasy again!

Got together with Aaron from South Bound Customs this morning to look at painting the Austin. He was happy with where I was at on the bodywork, and said he wont have much to finish it. Should get back later today with an estimate, and a date for painting it!
im glad u finally got someone willing to paint ur gasser cant wait to see it,with its new color,i know what u maean alot of hard work goes into making these old bodies super straight,im sure when its its done i will be proud of all the hrd work u did, yeah i bet u cant wait to get greasy again thats my favorite part too,i always loved working on the mwechanical parts but i hate the body work, but cant afford to have someone else do it either.hope u can come to a price u can both agree on.
