Thanks! I'd like to keep it real paint, and not decals or stencils if I can do it reasonably.

Can't believe it! Today the guy who painted my Camaro called and says he's ready to paint the Austin. After giving me the run around for weeks, and not making any of his promised connections with me.
I told him he was too late, and I found another painter who was willing to come over as promised, and the paint work was going to him. He wasn't happy, but he needed to learn that you can't be a flake and keep business. He does great work, but I wish he would have been better at keeping his word.

well thats better than having the current guy take forever to do the bodywork.

a buddy has a 55 chevy hes building as a straight axel gasser but its been at the body guys place for i think 3 or 4 years now and its still not done.

Must have been either a very bad body, or he's on the pay as you go routine. The guy who's painting mine has several cars in his shop that have been there for abywhere from 2-10 yrs.! One pro street '66 Nova is so exotic that the sends a check each month for all that's done. The 10 yr. project just sits a lot waiting for the owner to save up for more work.

Boy isn't that a familiar story! Pay up front and never see the car finished. seems like once the money gets spent elsewhere there's no money to finish.

Did you have a phone number for your pinstriper friend?

Yeah I'll be there at opening. Not much of a swap meet, but I can't pass any of them up. Never know when something really cool will show up. You going?
