'63 Falcon project
Haven't pinned down the exact color, but it will have an off white roof, and some sort of reddish brown, or maroon bottom. I have over half a gallon of paint leftover from the Austin, and at the cost of PPG ($750 a gallon for this!) I hope to have my painter mix in some brown metallic, or black, and come up with something that wont be the Austin's color with a white roof. Might save me a little on the next paint job for materials.
I've always liked paintjobs that don't date a car to a cetain era. I'm sure in 10-20 years we'll be looking at all those Foose style paintjobs too and saying, "Man those were popular in the early 2000 years!"
Pulled the Austin out so I could have a level concrete floor to bend tube on. Got all the pieces bent up, and trimmed. Then I tacked on the heavy wall stubs for the removeable front and rear braces. After some adjusting I got them lined up and welded them permanently in place. Then I cross drilled all the supports and stubs and pulled it apart. After that I drilled the braces out for 3/8 button head allens, and tapped the heavy stubs for the same.
Sanded it all and shot it satin black. Then just bolted it all in place with 3/8 bolts for the base and ends of the braces, and the 3/8 allens in the braces. After I finished mine, I bent up Jeff's for his '56 gasser. He's going with a 4 point, so it went pretty quickly. We ran out of daylight, so have to do his welding later.

Made the side braces low enough to get in and out easily without having to trip over them, or be a contortionist.

Thanks! No, we'll be at Portland Tranny! Never miss PT, and it's always too late by the time it's over to go to Papa's Toys. We usually get there as people are already leaving, so we wont bother going.
Should be a great weekend for both with 80 degree day! PT will usually get 700-800 cars with good weather!
