so...that mystery noise hasn't showed up since. idk what the heck is going on. right now my biggest question is about brakes. do I fork out money for new pads and rotors, or do I fork out another $150 to upgrade to LS1 brakes?

so on the way home I stopped by AutoZone to get the car scanned, and here were the results:

P0135 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0140 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0154 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0155 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0160 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction
P1441 EVAP system flow during non-purge condition

I know both of the rear O2 sensors should be throwing codes, because they aren't there. idk why the other O2s are throwing codes too, I hooked them up with extensions when I installed my longtubes. I thought replacing the hose for EGR (which was broken) would take care of that code, but apparently I was mistaken. And the EVAP...I just don't know about that one

also, my amp-meter has been registering rather low recently. (as in, barely out of the orange on the low end, sometimes actually in the orange). could that be a sign of a bad alternator? The battery is about 5 years old

so I took the car to O'Reilly's today, and lo and behold, I do have a bad battery, as confirmed by the guy's testing equipment and by the fluid testing (after charging the battery, only one cell was above 50%). So looks like I'm gonna have to pick one up this week.

Also, last semester my friend went to the Army Surplus Store, and he noticed a box of name badges for $.25 apiece, and one with the name "Schultz" happened to be sitting on the top. Today, I put it to good use:

also, I am currently in need of a high-beam light. So I was thinking, is it worth the investment to upgrade to non sealed-beam headlights?

Camaro and Firebird Headlight Conversion Kits

I also picked up some LS1 front calipers for my upcoming conversion.

Well, got the alternator tested today, and sure enough, it's kaput. Getting and installing a new one tomorrow.

In the meantime, I bought these tonight:
2 Front Drilled Slotted Brake Rotors and 4 Pads Chevy | eBay

and these:

Cross Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors Rear Chevy /GM | eBay

You hitting power tour Friday? Were thinking of going with them from Muskegon to Detroit. I live in Muskegon so we entered the car show just to have a parking spot.
