Big day yesterday! Three of my friends came over and gave me a hand finally getting the motor out!

Clearly safety was of the utmost importance:

And finally out!

So glad these guys came out to help, now I can really get going with this!

I'm actually just going to replace the bad piston and repair the head for this motor and put it back in

Progress tonight! Got the engine on the stand, got a good amount of the front suspension stuff off for POR-15

Looks like I need a new upper shock mount

Not much happening lately with this, but a quick update: we removed the other head, and lo and behold, it was also damaged.

Here are a couple of pics of the other head and piston:

As you can see, these aren't nearly as bad as the other ones were. The piston definitely needs to be replaced, and those two deep indents in the head need to be fixed.

Otherwise, the shopping list is growing...all new front bushings, POR-15 for the k-member and control arms, piston rings, rod bearings, and of course all the stuff needed to clear all that crap out of the engine. I'm also going to do the fuel line relocation and potentially some lighting upgrades as long as everything is torn apart.

I'm going to be in Arizona most of the next month and a half for work, so that will give me some time to collect parts and to let the shop repair the heads

Did a little shopping today. Ordered the second piston, rings, rod bearings, and head gaskets.
