Got some parts in the mail today:

 

So I'm thinking about picking up some used 3.42 gears for $30. I'm pretty sure I have 2.73s currently, I'll have to double-check my option codes to make sure. Any thoughts?

 

Get 'em. Can't beat it. Having 2.73 gears sucks!

 

actually, since posting I've decided that I definitely want 3.42s, but I don't think it's in the cards for me this summer. Just not high enough on the priority list.

The reason I said gears weren't in the cards for me this summer is because I wasn't gonna pay a shop a few hundred bucks to install them. I can handle swapping the whole rear end.

 

If you have the money, I say go for it. The guy even said he'll take the cover off so you're sure to be seeing what you get. If you have him take it off, you're already half way there for a new gasket and fluid

 

So in a surprise twist, my parents showed up at the MSU Car Show today driving my car! I was totally shocked. Definitely made my week.


Also, I checked my RPO codes, and among them was GU5. 3.23s for me

 

also, my exhaust blasted 100 db in the loudest exhaust competition today

 

Well I finally got home yesterday, meaning I finally got a chance to do a little work. Unfortunately pretty much nothing went as smoothly as I would've hoped (for details, see this thread: https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-l...68/#post535879).
