I would say 3.73 would be a good mod for your car.

u dont need to do power before gears. lemme put it to u this way, mustangs regularly see fair gains from gear swaps,a nd a full bolton mustang is still shy of the power of a stock ls1. and they go bigger, 2.73 to 3.73 or 4.10, as opposed to 3.42 to that. so u can do gears whenever. however for some bigger mods you MUST have gears or the car will hang forever in the low rpm.

So if i have a stock car, should Istart off with getting a new exhaust system, then air intake, and then new gears? When should i put in new suspension upgrades to support the power?

As long as you have good traction you can probaly knock off about two or three tenths off your 1/4 time depending on how high you go 3.73 are good all around and 4.10s are a little more for the track but guys do run them with no problemon the street.i have seen mustang guys run up to 4.56s on the street but thats not recomended..

What exactly will a torque converter do for my car, sorry never heard of one. thanks for all of your help.
