Upgrading Rearend Gears

RE: Upgrading Rearend Gears
u dont need to do power before gears. lemme put it to u this way, mustangs regularly see fair gains from gear swaps,a nd a full bolton mustang is still shy of the power of a stock ls1. and they go bigger, 2.73 to 3.73 or 4.10, as opposed to 3.42 to that. so u can do gears whenever. however for some bigger mods you MUST have gears or the car will hang forever in the low rpm.

So if i have a stock car, should Istart off with getting a new exhaust system, then air intake, and then new gears? When should i put in new suspension upgrades to support the power?

RE: Upgrading Rearend Gears
As long as you have good traction you can probaly knock off about two or three tenths off your 1/4 time depending on how high you go 3.73 are good all around and 4.10s are a little more for the track but guys do run them with no problemon the street.i have seen mustang guys run up to 4.56s on the street but thats not recomended..
