My FIL picked one up at the end of the Fall season flea market for like $110 and dropped it off at my garage. It folds up too. Definitely something that will come in handy. Good find.

i almost bought my compressor today but the damn thing wouldn't fit in my truck with the tool box on. I'll run back in the morning and get it home somehow.

Had to lay mine down to get it in, and then still hung out the back of the tailgate, so I got out the tie downs and strapped it in. I let it sit for a couple hours after getting it home before starting, to let the oil all get back down in the bottom of the compressor.

These are shipped dry. I will have to wait until later in the week. I just picked up a 75' roll of grounded 6-3 on ebay for $139. It worked out to 2 bucks a foot after shipping.

Ok, the compressor is all mine. I picked up a new sub panel today too. What size breaker should I be using at the main panel for the sub panel? 6-3 is rated at 55-60A. A 60 breaker then? Also if the welder is rated at 20A then does it go on a 20A breaker or 30 because if it was drawing 20A it would pop the breaker, no?

Correct on both Damon. If the welder is rated 20a, does it have a 30a. plug on it? That's really the determining factor. Mine is rated 20a, but has a 20a plug, so that's what I put on the ckt. too. Sometimes they rate them lower than the plug, but mostly it's rated the same. If a device actually draws a certain amperage (like 20a.) then it needs to be protected by a overcurrent device that is 125% of the load, or whatever the next nominal size device is. For a breaker that would be 30a, and the wire size is the same as the breaker.

Actually I haven't looked at the plug close. I haven't even opened the box to tell the truth. It looks like a dryer plug from the pic on the box. I was gonna swap the plug and the cord out anyhow. I bought a 30A twist lock plug because I just though I'd go with a higher rating than the welder needed and be fine. I also have a couple industrail wet area boxes. I'll run those on the same circuit with one near the front of the garage and one mounted to the block just outside the door. That way I can weld in the driveway without dragging cord all over the place.

Maybe someday I can get to work on my car but I'm having fun learning how to wire my garage for now.

Really good idea to have multiple plugs and avoid extension cords that create resistancee in the feed. That was a major reason I went with a 120 v. version. Just so I'd have power everywhere I might want to weld without extension cords.

THERE HEEERE!!! Behold the steam rollers. Size large by huge. I put a pic in next to my lawn mower for comparison. 17x11 I got 17x8 for the front, but when I pulled them out and measured the BS they were 4" I wanted 4.75" ,kinda pissed about that. I waited a month for them. The good news is there returnable, the 11" is a custom order and and go back. Now if I can just finish moving into this house so I can get my car in the garage, I can test fit them. What do you guys think? Name: 002-19.jpg
