I use a knotted wire wheel or end brush for the rubber stuff. It slings it everywhere but it comes off without gumming up the flap wheel.

I still have my trunk weather stripping and the rear window. Both have it. LOL I still haven't got all the undercoating off the inside of the floor pan either. Thats how bad I hate dealing with it. Six months ago is when I started scraping that crap off.

Because of the canopy shelter I want this thing done and epoxy primered by the end of next week. I don't want moisture in the air to start surface rust, so need to get it sealed pretty soon!
What size tip did you use when spraying your primer? How much did it take to prime it? I ordered a gallon.

SPI? They recommend a 1.5. I used a 1.3 and a 1.8 because I don't have a 1.5. The 1.8 worked better. The reducer mixes 1:1 so you have two sprayable gallons. I have at least three coats on my car. The first one was sanded completely off. The gallon of primer is still better than half full. So I still have over a gallon left.

I have read the $50 Harbor Freight purple gun is perfect for spraying SPI.

Not sure what SPI is. I bought my primer and catylist from Summit. I'll check my spraygun and see what tip it came with. Bought it years ago, but never used it yet. It's a gravity feed and I bought the extra disposable paint cups in case I needed to replace them.

SPI is Southern Polyurethanes. The summit epoxy should come with a P-sheet. This sheet will tell you everything from mixing ratio to the nozzle tip dia. As well as the recommended window for top coating and such.

Back on the bodywork today. Got all the grille, emblems, lights, door handles, etc. removed, and did some more sanding. Tried staraightening up the drip rails a bit, and got them looking pretty good.
I can only take just so much sanding, so I hope I get this done soon!

I understand. After being a metal finisher for most my 20's. I though I would be able to knock my car out no problem. I did the 78's body work in a week. Well now my elbows hate me. My back aches and I absolutely hate the dust all over my shop.

I'm going to get some chemical stripper and try that on some parts. If it works I'll strip it with chemical and then sand after that.
