Default Does Bypassing Fix Your VATS Problem?

Hi, my cars security light has been on for about 2 years, but until recently hasn't caused any problems with starting. When I get in the car it doesn't turn over or anything. Then I'll wait for 5 minutes and it will start. My question is, will soldering in a resistor and bypassing it fix my problem, or will I need to get it tuned out of my PCM? Thanks.

ya just get an ohm meter and check the chip in the key then just solder the same ohm resistor into the 2 wires in the orange casing under the dash

there are different values. you'd have to either find out from the dealership with your VIN or measure it yourself. I think they used 3 different values

I have a similar issue. Sometimes when I go to turn the key to start the car, the car will do nothing and the security light will stay on for exactly 2 minutes once the key is removed. After the 2 min., the security light goes out and the car starts up. I know this is supposed to be some kind security thing, but eh does it do it in my driveway when simply trying to start it? Is the problem in the car with the register? Or could it be my key? Or even maybe the lock assembly in the column? Any help with this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
