Bypassing or Eliminating the VATS???

Default Bypassing or Eliminating the VATS???

I was wondering if the VATS system could be bypassed or eliminated all together?I cant finda wiring diagram online to see andI would like to do a push button start on my car, is it possible to have the ECM reprogramed to eliminate the VATS and take it out?

This seems to be a common problem lately. I've posted this answer before recently, so here goes again. The chip in the ignition key is a resistor and the circuit in the ignition switch needs to be bypassed with an inline resistor to match the resistance of your key. This website will explain the system and gives bypass instructions.

Yeah i seen the post with resistances thanks for the info!! how do i know which key i have?

Depends on why you're asking. If you need to know for bypassing, you need to read it with a meter as shown in the directions. If you need a duplicate key made, the key maker should have a reader that the key gets slid into to let them know which resistance key blank to use. There are only ten different variables.

Should I just go to the dealer to get another key made?
