Default Rear lighting problems / questions

Hi, SORRY, im sure this has been asked about before, but couldnt find anything that helped...

I have a 1968 rs/ss... i just finally got the brake lights and blinkers to work (ran a separe new ground wire for each). The brakes and the blinkers light up the upper filament on the 1157 bulb. Now i cant get the rear running lights to work when the headlights are on...the lower filament never lights up., even when i hook up the other brown power wire to them. The side marker lights work fine with this wire, when headlights are on, but the lower filament in all four tail lights never works.
Any thoughts on this??

Also, with the dual filament bulbs, would i need the bulb socket with the 3 wires instead of the 2 wire one?

I replaced every fuse, bulb and bulb sockets (with the same 2 wire socket that were in it).

What am i missing!!

the tailights are grounded by the light socket mounting up against the body. should be two wires, one for blinkers and brake lights and one for parking lights. get your test light out and start lookin.

Default Hell yah

Thanks for the info Craby! I didnt realize the lights were grounded through the housing of the light itself...works perfect now.

Now i can atleast drive it "legally"...hahah

Thanks again!
