Acceleration Noise Issue...? Please help...

Im sorry, its not much of a whiny groaning noise but more of a grinding noise. Its actually kind of hard to tell where its coming from. but what could be the signs of a bad transmission?? And could someone post a picture of what a bad or cracked "rear end" looks likes?
