Default Knocking noise under acceleration

I have a loud knocking noise when acceleration. I know its not the motor. It sounds like its comming from right below the firewall or maybe a little further back by the tranny. It gets louder the harder I accelerate. The car still pulls strong and I have not noticed any performace or diveability issues. I have not had a chance to get it in the air and look yet but was open to some suggestions before I get under it tomorrow.
I cant tell if its my headers hitting the floor
Bad U joint
Torsion bar
Or the Trans

Most likely the transmission/ torque arm mount. There are no torsion bars in this car.

Figuring you have a torn trans mount, the rear of the trans will jump up and whack the tunnel. Get it fixed, and baby the car until you do. Keep letting it do that, and you could tear up a u-joint.

I replaced the trans mount yesterday with an Energy Suspension mount. Its nice having Jegs 5 miles from my house. I am pretty sure its my headers because you can't even get a pad of paper between them and the floorboards.

sounds like the headers. modify the floor so it stops, or get matching poly motor motor mounts

Am having a similar issue with my 94. There seems to be a noise coming from what seems to be the trans area. Have checked several things it could be, all to no avail. The trans mounts are in good condition. All other applied mechanical products and non mechanical mountings etc are all tight and in good working condition. All that was loose is the exhaust side clamp bracket attaching the exhaust to the catalytic, fixed that and nosie issue persists.

Whether car is either in park or in a gear, noise still exists. If throttle isadvancesto elevate RPM's to about 1300 the noise goes away. Likewise, if going down the street the noise occurs, but goes away under hard acceleration.

This noise is a ghost and cannot seem to find the source of it, and am getting frustrated with replacing parts that apparently were not the root cause of the issue.

Any other ideas?
