Default Replacement for 1994 T-56

Back in 2002 I built a 1962 Corvette restorod using a T-56 6 speed transmission from a 1994 Camaro, gear ratios are 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.74, 0.50. I would like to replace the transmission with a new one, but I have been told that this transmission is no longer available. Just wondering if anyone on this forum knows of a source for a new transmission like the one I have. If not, how about a recommendation on someone to rebuild the one I have?
Thanks,
Charles

Thanks for the information.
I talked to someone from Silver Sport and their Tremec Magnum T-56 is not what I would call a "direct replacement". The Tremec has a different hydraulic clutch arrangement, different driveshaft output splines, and a different bellhousing to fit my engine. The "direct replacement" applies to LS engines, not my iron block 350.

Well it's about the only option for new from what I've seen,is there a reason yours can't be rebuilt?

Probably not. Anyone know a reliable transmission rebuilder in central NC - Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Charlotte area?

You can order the magnum with the correct bellhousing. All you would have to do is change to internal hydraulic clutch and find a 31 spline (GM T56 are 27 spline output) yoke to connect to your drive shaft. Everything could be ordered through Summit racing.
Is there a reason yours needs rebuilt?
