T56 replacement
is the t56 6 speed trans the same lt1 Camaros and ls1 Camaros up to 2002.
I have a 99 and want to buy a replacement t56 trans and wonder if one from a 1996 Camaro is the same as my 99. ive heard the bell housings are different.

I bought a rebuilt T56 from a friend who had it built for a big block. Came out of his 2000 Camaro. All I did was change the input shaft and bell housing from my old transmission to the one I bought. Works just fine.
