Default Tremec tr-6060

why does my 2000 ss have a tremec in it? doesnt it come with a borg warner from the factory?? thanks in advance i just bought this thing and im just gettin involved in the gm world

replyed in z28 section , the t56 is a tremac-borg-warner as far as i am aware, plus thats what all the parts suppliers say when getting any internals for it

I'm pretty sure starting in 1998 they classified it as a tremec t-56, instead of a borg warner.

yer that what i heard they were all classified as tremacs (my friends 2004 monaro has one in ), but its the same box always the T56 indepandant of name.

i have heard a bunch of people now referr to this tranny as a tremAc but it says TremEc right on the tranny and again upside down on the bell housing, i am assuming it is a factory transmission because the skipshift is still active.
