Just realized what i said. My bad. Ill have to check it out in the morning and see if thats the problem.

see the black crossmember on the other side of the crossover pipe, sorta below. mount is between that and the trans.

There is a "torque arm" that's mounted to the rear axle. It comes forward and attaches to a bracket off the tail of the trans. That keeps the pinion end of the rearend from lifting under torque and wanting to spin like a pinwheel. That lifting motion on the arm puts upward force on the tail of the trans, and stresses the mount, until it ultimately rips apart. When that happens, the tail of the trans will lift hard when you hit the gas and smack the tunnel.

Damn. Now i wanna go out there in look, but damn camaros are so low you cant even get under there.

jacks and stands are pretty darn cheap at harbor freight right now

Finally got to replacing it, of course you were all right, the mount was ripped in half. Easy job, was done in 15 minutes. Felt so good to floor it and not hear any of that loud banging ****. Appreciate the help guys.
