I am a Fiero Guy, have had and have several Pontiac Fieros and today I just bought my first Camaro. I picked up a 98 V6 Automatic for 500$ not starting.

Very excited but have a couple questions.

1. What is the lower body style. The body on this car goes lower than a normal camaro.
2. What are common problems do they have?
3. Any good parts sellers?
4. Best aftermarket parts?
5. How does the auto tranny hold up?

Lower intake leaks, 98 got the new lid but still has the old intake, so there's pretty much nothing aftermarket for improvement since it's one year only.

Suspension is the same as the v8 if buying after market, but just upgrading to v8 sway bars is a good start.

first I'd guess your camaro has the RS ground effects. I doubt you can get the slp cai because I believe your throttle body is angled like the 96-97 v6 camaros. on ebay you can get OBX headers and their exhaust system. you can also find a cai for $34 on ebay as well. if you google 3800 performance you get 3 sites that pretty have everything you could ever want for the v6.

 

Where can i fiond front rs effects cheap. They are missing from my car, Cheapest I can find is 250$ for just the front.

 

The 2 piece oem clips are hard to come and demand to $$$ when they do show up. Best bet would be to go with wings west off rksport, but your still looking at the same price range.

 

Since GM only made the RS for 2 years (96-97)in the 93-97 style they are fairly rare and the front part is always the first to go. There are a lot of RS's out there missing the front part. When they do show up they show up on ebay they always do well.
