Default So, we just bought our Camaro...

Just bought a used 2011 Synergy Green 2SS/RS. Pretty much my wife's dream car, although it's a 6 speed manual, and she would have preferred an automatic. Anxious to learn more about the car, most popular mods, issues with these cars, etc. This will not be a daily driver, just a fun car that we finally decided to pull the trigger on. Any links to threads that I should read are appreciated. I will have some questions that will definitely show my "newbieness", so bare with me! I promise to use the search function first though! First question though is this: What is up with the "1st to 4th gear only" shift? Thanks!

45acp, welcome to the Club,
'Skip-Shift' - should be a light come on when you are attempting a 1-2 upshift and cannot - a function GM installed for MPG to get out of the gas guzzler tax for the first buyer.

Read the Owner's Manual, it may read shifting earlier, aka, lower rpms, or more than 2/3's to 3/4's throttle, light will not come on and no inhibition of 1-2 shift.

You can buy a Skip-Shift Eliminator for the trans harness as it subs the trans solenoid and does not turn on the CEL (Check Engine Light). Most aftermarket sources sells them, SLP, Summit racing, and Amazon.com does.

Perfect, I'll have to do that. I don't really care for my car telling me when to shift and what gear. Thanks!
