Just bought a '95 Camaro
I just bought a '95 Camaro with a 3.4 the other day and I'm tryin to fix everything on it before I start drivin it. I got a few questions and would appreciate any help you guys can give me. First off, when I went to drive it home I was driving on the highway for about 3 minutes and it overheated. The lady I bought it from had just got a brand new thermostat in it because of this problem but it didn't fix it. I stopped and pulled the thermostat out and then drove the car all the way home and it ran fine, below the 1/4 mark the whole way. Could it be that she had a bad thermostat put in or could it be something else? Next question is, the radio is full of static but the cd player sounds good, how would I fix that? Finally, I'm going to be putting new gaskets on the engine and I was wondering about how difficult and time consuming it's going to be. I just got rid of my 95 Cavalier and that was about the hardest car I ever had to work on. Again, any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Make sure the thermostat wasen't installed upsidedown. Or it might be a bad thermostat.
As for the radio, it's going to be a problem with the antenna. Is it power or fixed? If powered check and make sure it extends. most common problem with those is the plastic cable that drives them up. It can be bought seperate from your local GM dealer.
If its fixed, just check all the cable plugs, should be two. One at the radio and one at the mast.

I'll try a new thermostat. The old one was a 195 I think. I'll buy a 160 tomorrow. As for the radio, I don't think it is the antenna because "Stereo" or "ST" shows up on the display. I think if it wasn't getting a good signal that wouldn't show up. I was wondering if this is a common problem, possibly something to do with the wiring? BTW I have a fixed antenna, not power. Thanks for the help!
