Same thing happened to me ....Usually when my friends (Mustang owners) want me to take them for a ride in my car to see what it has its usually a little below 1/2 tank and after I finish getting on it they look at the gas gauge and they're like man this thing sure does waste gas and my reply is always "its a camaro..." In my first F Body (94 Firebird) I noticed the gauge rapidly dropping after half a tank and I was like there is no way a V6 uses that much gas, but I soon learned that it was like that with all of them.

 

I have driven about 40 miles with the guage on E. I was living life on the edge...

 

^same here...I've actually had it below E for quite a while. No gas guage ever game on. Never run out (knocks on wood). I try never to let it get that low though.

 

I've hit E before, but when it says E, it means E in my car [:@] Needless to say I always fill up when the guage says it's around a 1/2 tank. It's only run out of gas twice, but the fuel pump is still good *knock on wood*

Now if Pete can only find his fix that would probaby make my whole week!

 

I totally noticed this last week......... i thought someone stole my gas!!!!!!

 

haha, ya i always start to worry once i go below 1/4 tank

 

mine was kinda the opposite[8D]
like, when it was full(pump shut itself off) my gas gauge was at a full tank, but at about a half of a tank, i was already reading empty.. so i never knew when to fill up. lol, ran out of gas 3 times.. also sucks when there is no gas light that comes on..

 

i second the whole no gas light.. lol.. i know when my friends '00 gets low on gas the check guages light comes on, but not in mine..[:@]

 

my fuel guage works right hahahaha
