Default Performance Filter vs. Cold Air Cone

hey, my 98 camaro v6 came with an aftermarket air filter. just wondering if it's worth extra extra $200 bucks or so to buy a Cold Air intake system, such as the cone systems by K&N.

thanks.

Since you have a 98, then you should just get this: http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...5deb1f5e778d7band one of these: http://www.whispermotorsports.com/fbody.html

for a 98-02, smooth the intake box, and drop a K&N box filter in.

With that style of filter would you have to worry about water getting in the system? It is right on the bottom and in the open getting premium air but they look prime for a water hazard, is this true?

This kind it goes underneath the car and I was wondering if it cathes any water.

No. Unless you drive through small streams and lakes, you will be fine.

Just the filter isn't going to get you much, you're looking to modify/replace the lid if you want any real gains.
