Default catalytic converter prob

i have a 1996 camaro 3.8 and my cat. converter makes some wierd noises along with rattling when i put the car into gear so im gonna definitely get a new one and what would you guys recommend meto do, gosummitracing.com and order a direct fit magnaflow cat. converter which will require no welding or cutting of any sort so i can install it myselfand also get the magnaflow cat-back system i've been wanting for 4evr which will add up to about $660 (which isn't a prob) or would i be better off going to like car-x r something and just have them put on all new exhaust

my bad, so my question is would the manaflow be worth it as far as performance and sound goes? taking into consideration i only have a v6... or would it be a waste spending that kind of money on exhaust for a v6?

It wouldn't necessarily be a waste of time. Not sure how much preformance you will gain out of the magnaflow with the v-6, but if you get the cat and the stainless exhaust, you may get a few extra horses, an exhaust which could outlast the car/no rust, and a nicer sound.
Although I always do get a good chuckle out of people with 4 and 6 bangers who have exhausts (more so those with 4 bangers). LOL

I recently replaced my catalytic converter with a direct fit. Make sure you order the correct one. There was no way of distinguishing the two models offered, and luck have it, I ordered the wrong one. The inlet pipes were too short which made the crossover touch the oil pan. After that problem sorted out, installation was a breeze, given you have access to a lift. I also purchased a flowmaster cat back system, and it sounds great throughout the low to mid RPM range. Higher RPMs will let some people know you're running a V6, but that doesn't bother me any. It definately doesn't have the bumblebee sound.
