Default catalytic converter

Anybody happen to know the diameter of the inlet on a catalytic converter with what was a stock 305, but is now a 350?

My original Cat was 3" as was the rest of the stock exhaust on my 87 305 TPI. But it depends on the year and engine so they did vary from 2 1/4 to 3".

yea i went and got off my lazy *** last night and mesured it myself last night, its only 2 1/4". Is it worth the money to get the 3"? I was thinkin about runnin 3" pipeing all the way down for my exhaust so im guessin ill have to in order to get the full effect of the pipeing.

My opinion would be to go with 1 3/4 headers, Hi-flow cat 3"in/out and a full 3" catback exhaust. Any brand that you can afford. With a 350 it would wake it up some, because it is choked now with the 2 1/4 exhaust.

How much would they be asking for them though? I dont want to spend over 500 bucks for the headers. Also, they have to have all the emissions on them because its my daily driver still...
