Default Bad rear wheel bearing

Well over the past few weeks I've been trying to find out why I've been getting such horrible mileage.. 11.2 to be exact. Well I took it to a shop today to have then thoroughly look at it to find out y and they said they can't find anything wrong with it.. The only thing thy found was a bad rear wheel bearing its starting to seize up. Now could that have anything to do with my mileage and possible making my car run hotter on the highway than usual because of friction?

I would guess if theres enough drag on the engine from the failing wheel bearing, then it would act like a brake being applied while trying to drive the car which would both lower your mileage and make the engine work harder inturn causing it to run hotter. So yes, the theory is plausible in my opinion.

There would have to a lot of drag to lower the gas mileage that much though. Most common causes of poor mileage is the ignition system needing a tune up, O2 sensors needing a tune up or excessive sludge build up.

Well I've already changed the plugs and wires with the original ac delcos and I did change the bank 1 o2 sensor cause that code did show up but I didn't change the bank 2 but should I even though a code didn't pop up for it? How do I get rid of the sludge? A engine flush?

If a wheel bearing (that's constantly doused in oil, btw) has so much friction that it can cause drag, (simulating brakes), it's going to chew itself apart in no time flat. I'm not buying into that theory.

I believe that it is an ignition problem of some kind.

You wouldn't have to change bank 2 sensor...but when it comes to something like that I usually just replace both unless I know one is of newerness. Sludge can't be completely taken away, but regular oil changes help prevent build up in the engine. You can also try Seafoam to help clear out the engine too. I used it every time I do a oil change.
