Default 94 z28 redline!!!

okay, one of the problems ive been noticing with the camaro is that when i race someone, when the car gets up to 7 rpms it doesnt shift fast enough and starts to relay a bit... i thought it would be something normal since its an automatic, but just wanna hear some thoughts to see if there is a problem and how can i fix it... thanks

7000rpm? I hope not for the sake of your engine - unless you got some serious valvetrain upgrades.

it only relays for like half a second, i was told that if i let go of the gas when it reaches the redline and then floor it again its suppose to shift properly... remember this is a stock 94 z28 automatic...

That's not right. It should shift at about 5700. If I were you I'd NOT race anyone until this is fixed. Hitting 7000 rpms repeatedly isn't good. At all.

Fix your transmission before you need a new engine. LT1s with stock valve gear should not go over 5800 RPM.
