redline??
i have a supercharged 95z and when i smash it on the highway it redlines a couple times before it shifts to the next gear, and sometimes i even haveto let off the gas before it will shift... i have a tuner, will re-tuning this so the shift point is lower help? what else might it be?

RE: redline??
Set it to shift about 200 RPM sooner. The extra power is allowing the engine to rev up faster than the transmission can react to. More line pressure and stronger solenoids will help also. Unless the transmission has been beefed up, it is not going to take kindly to a supercharged engine and will soon self destruct. When that happens take the opportinity to make it stronger.

RE: redline??
I hope the Camaro is not a daily driver. The stage 3 clutch is not feather friendly. It's either in or out. FYI. But you said you had a tuner therefore it sounds like you have an automatic. Change the stall speed converter in the trans. Also don't mess with the tuning. Tuners usually advance the timing and fuel curve to run on premium and squeeze out that extra horses power. Advancing timing on a supercharged Camaro will be destructive.

RE: redline??
i used a tuner, but not for engine tuning, just tuning of the rev limiter to 6200 rpms as well as the shift points, which i set to -5 for each (helped out some, but problem is not fixed yet). im going to buy a shift kit, the guys at my local shop told me that would help out alot. i think the tranny is holding the power (if it werent wouldnt it slip when the car made the most power at around 4200 rpms or so?) so i narrowed it down to bad tuning and slow shift speed. thanks alot dudes! and yes the car is a daily driver (it is an automatic to hold the boost straight through).

RE: redline??
I have found this to be the problem with almost ALL automatic Camaro's when extra horsepower is in play. If you got good dual valve springs just set the rev limit to 6500-7000 and the shift point to 6250 +/- 50 and you are all done.
The factory rev limiter is kicking in before the shift as others have stated. The only way of getting around it is to extend the rev limiter. Once agian dual valve springs should be installed before extending the RPM otherwise you will feel some floating up in the 5800-6250 rpm rage. You would be amazed how good the LT1 feels in the 4200-6500 RPM range with proper valve springs.
I have installed shift kits to fix this problem and in the end it still requires changing the facotry rev limiter.

I always get a kick out of the " Stage " terms. They really don't mean anything. A Stage Three for one guy might be a Stage one to another, Go by the material used and the spring pressure, etc. Learn a lot more about clutches before You buy the wrong clutch. McLeod is probably the best manufacturer to talk with about the subject. See if You can get one of their catalogs. It's a wealth of education on Clutches. It'll set You straight and You'll be better for it.
