I'm assuming you have the A4 since most people wouldn't rev their car to 6 grand and then switch gears. But mine usually changes gears right before it hits 2k rpm going from 0-15mph under light throttle. And does that when driving normally. If I floor it, it usually changes around 4-5k.

It could be a tune problem, but most likely it is a transmission problem, usually weak shift solenoids, or even maladjusted shift linkage.

not that i know of ive only owned the car for maybe 8 months. the car has 90,000 on it and the motor has about 30,000 on it. the block on the first motor cracked and i do have all the paper work for the swap from a chevy dealer. it will do it in all gears it shifts fine at all times regardless of how i drive it. i didnt think they made one of those chips you put in the computer for obd2 cars doesnt it have to be reprogramed.

I have the same care, but T Tops. Shifts anywhere from 5700-6000. I usually start backing off at 5500 since there is little gain. SLP cold air intake and cat back. Not sure if previous owner played with the computer. It will lay tire on the 1-2 upshift with the stick in D. (even with the A/C on) The traction control is really annoying on the 1-2 shift. It turns it into Grandma mode for a few seconds. Always forget to disable after takeoff.
