im gona get a rev limiter for my 305, and i need to know what the redline is. can someone tell me what is the most highest rpm to safely shift at?

depends on where the peak hp is made.
on the tach, the needlewont go any higher than 5500 rpm, i suppose the factory limiter is at that engine speed

There is no limiter. And a stock 85 has max HP at 4000 so there is no reason to go over that. Unless your in top gear and wanting to go top speed.
