yea. still not sure if thats the issue. ill have to pull out my multimeter and do some testing to see if the solenoid works in the trans. if it does, ill just put a switch on it and do it myself

i did finally try to adjust the tv cable. the second one is of much better quality, however is bottomed out on the adjustment. since i messed up the old cable bracket thats on there, im going to have to get a new one to the adjuster stays firmly in place. there is one tpi car nearby that im going to try to get it from. if that doesnt fix the shifting issue, ill just oblong the holes and adjust it that way

camaro69, that link could be helpful. if i have to, i may just cut the tan wire and run it to a switch ground. it would be cool to be able to lock the tcc in second and third gear. i love engine braking

If you do end up hot-wiring the t.c., just be careful not to go beating on the car through the gears with it locked up. The clutch inside the t.c. grabs like a conventional friction clutch, but it's not heavy duty to take low end torque, and you'll end up breaking it. That's why from the factory it's designed to lock in once you're cruising, and unlock while you're giving it heavier throttle.

The tcc strength issue isn't with the trans, it's the torque converter itself. What kind are you running?
