no idea wut happened
the only thing left is the exciter wire to the alternator. it has to get power from the ignition switch to tell it to start working. its been so long i cant remember much on the two wire alt. im assuming the alternator has a internal voltage regulator. check in the fuse box under the hood if u have one and see if theres an igition relay. if its the same as one of the others change them and see what that does.
r u talkin about the plug that goes onto the alt with a thick red 1 and a skinny 1? the red 1 is conneted to the starter, and i cut the skinny 1. i dont have nemore relays. i took them out. except for the 1 for a/c.
mr craby u r the man i thought that little wire was for the gauge so i cut that little wire off. so i put that little wire on the post and it worked. now does that little wire have to be on a switched 12v or can it just stay constantly on?
it should be hooked to the ignition switch. the old igntions had alt on the switch so u would know which post the wire went to. it will run your battery down and harm the alt if u leave it hooked up.
