blower fan switch problem
i lost the high speed on the fan tonight, but all the other speeds are fine. does anyone know if it could be a resistor blew out, or would it more likely be the switch thats the problem
It's either the switch, or the number four wire on from the switch is bad. There wouldn't be a burnt resistor causing that, since the high setting is resistor free, and subsequently lower speeds are created by adding a resistor to the circuit per drop in speed.
alright, thanks. im thinking of replacing the entire climate control system on the interior because i get a lot of static hiss, especially when its off, the floor setting doesnt always go on or hisses, and now this
You sure it isn't a vacuum leak causing the hiss and the floor duct not working? It's been a while, but if I remember correctly the 3rd gen F-Bodies used vacuum controlled ducting for the climate controll. You would do well to check that out, make sure the vacuum lines are on tight and in good shape.
