I tried posting this in the 4th gen forum but didn't get much info so I'd like to try it here:
I have an 88 (3rd gen)v6 2.8with a worn out 5spd trans. I quy is selling a standard trans from a 96(4th gen)v6. I'm not sure what engine size it is.Will the 96 V6 trans bolt up to my 88 2.8? Are there any lenth issues? How can I convert the 96 speed sensor trans to run my manual speedo drive on my 88? Thanks for any response.

 

no it wont bolt up, the only camaros youll find one to bolt up from are the 82-92, either the 2.8 or the 3.1, i know the 3.8 one wont bolt up right and im pretty sure the 3.4 wont either. call a junk yard u can find trannys for 2.8's pretty cheap actually.
