hi there, i am new to this forum, just got a 1996 convertable z28 with a six speed, 4 days ago. my question is that almost everytime i put it in reverse and back out it pops out of reverse either right as i am letting the clutch out, or after a few feet of moving. but sometimes it backs out no problem and stays in gear fine. there are no problems whatso ever in the any of the forward gears, and it shifts fine through all six gears and the clutch feels great. i am thinking it might be the synchro for reverse, but am not sure. any help would be appreciated. try adjusting the linkage. hope thats all it is. i had a trany like that once and just got in the habit of holding it in reverse. lol. when i changed the clutch i adjusted the linkage and that was it. another time and different vehicle it did it in two gears and it wasnt the linkage. never did tear into the old 66 gimmy to see what it was.
