Looks good, where did you get the quart of rustoleum at? I'm gonna try out my paint gun on the frame when I get it all blasted.

I got it at Walmart. Its plain Jane Rustolem. I sprayed it out of my gun. I had to cut w/ 25% mineral spirits to get it flow out of the gun. I used the same stuff on my basketball hood last month but I used lacquer thinner, it took days for it to harden. So after reading the can it said to mix w/ mineral spirits or acetone only. Worked fine this time.

I use a lot of Rustoleum on my cars. I brush a lot of it underneath where it doesn't show much, since it gives a really good coating that way. When spraying I dilute it with acetone, just because my painter friend said it makes the dried paint a bit harder.
I use spray cans also, but not for anything but touchup painting.

Damn i wish i had the desire, no wait the enthusiasm to build my car with as much detail as you are building yours. This will be beautiful when its done. Frame looks great. I am assuming the spots on the weld you are talking about were the low spots on the bead? Regardless looks great all painted up. The best mine can hope for is a rattle can of tremclad as im not about to pull the sub from the car, never the less pull my BBC.

Keep up the good work, and keep posting

The bad spots are going to be hidden between the top of the frame and the body. I didn't post pics of the exploding welds. The spots your seeing are and illusion, the weld id the same width with starts and stops. Thanks for the compliments. The problem is this is the second time I've painted the sub frame. I just didn't like the first go round.

Have you created a time line of how long you are hoping your build goes? I know you probably want it done right now but do you have any idea of what kinda time frame you are looking at?

I would like to drive this coming summer. It will never be finished. But really I have no time line. I use spare money to build it, and spare money if hard to come by right now. I think I have most everything for that. Minus exhaust and a few other things.

Here's the sob story. I may have to sell parts soon. My youngest son may have to have surgery on his eye. He's almost 3. Every time I think about it I get nervous. Anyhow, my insurance is gonna leave me hanging for sure. I'd sell the whole thing for my boy if I had to. I don't think it will be that bad though.

I came up with a new goal today. I want to be the car you wouldn't want to park yours next to.
