So here it goes, my project thread (2nd gen)

They are a bit soft but I dont think they will hook for crap. They are a street performance tire. More for cornering with a stiff side wall. Nitto makes a N555DR that is a drag radial. But if I go drag racing I'l more than likely bolt on my 15" wheels with a real set of ET Streets. There is no point in trying to get a short tire to hook. 15's fit over my brakes and a the tires will be a true wrinkle wall design, not a compromise.
Instead I went for ridetech where they use the same front perches but the lower bar is welded on the inside to gain about 1" tyre clearance than the standard leave spring. As well the coil overs are mounted inside of the frame rails and not like the stock shocks.
Just a quick one - how much tyre clearance shall I leave between the Inner rear fender and the rubber? 1/2" is enough or I need to leave more space? Any idea?

I really cant answer that. If it were a drag car I wouldnt care how much there was because they will just pull away as the car accelerates. Depending how stiff your tire is and how you plan on using the car come into play. Your "hard driving" could be my warm up lap.

I will order a 295 tyre and install it to see how it sits inside the wheel well. I will post pics when I have them.
