So here it goes, my project thread (2nd gen)
After lurking around here for a couple months I figured I'd start my thread. I originally was going to build my 78 Z, but I came acrossed a rust free body that some had lost interest in and made the call. Simple math told me that the price of the shell was cheaper/easier than buying all the panels my car needed. Plus I don't own a welder.
Here's the 78.
This is the bucket I picked up last month.
The 383 I built last year.
This is most of the Protouring f-body suspention, I say most because I ordered 5 weeks ago and get alittle bit every week. I'm still waiting on LCA's and my front springs.
I spent most of today blasting the front subframe. Here's how it turned out with a couple coats of chassis saver.

Thanks for the kind words guys. There was a fire in the river flats near my dads house (were the Camaro lives) and 60 power poles were burned. No power until tomorrow at least. I did get the sub frame on though.
After two to three coats of paint the body mount holes were gunked up pretty bad so a little tuning with a half round file got me going again.
This is the locator for the ptfb solid bushings.

Don't know what happened. This new laptop is touchy.
After fileing the fit was dead on.
The bushings can be installed with the thinner side under the body to lower it 1/2", which is whatI did.
It literally took ten minutes to bolt the subframe in, although I didn't cross measure yet. It was cold, starting to rain and I was in the dark. Tomorrows Easter so I'll be with the kids. I guess this is it until next weekend.

Great looking project! It's gonna be a super nice ride when you're done! Besides saving on rust repair, you wont have to fix that sunroof hole either!

LOL I was seriously on the fence with that one. I read your posts on it and was thinking a new skin. That sunroof is runner up to the leaking A pillars for killing the floor pans. Hated it.
