Guys question - What is your idea about exhaust cut outs? Any one did exhaust cut outs before? (guess the answer will be yes)

Just have an idea - if the exhaust cut out be installed exactly right after the headers (one each side), then one way out will be through the mufflers (normal operation), and the other way will be via the cut out electric motors and to the exhaust side tubes (when motors are energised). By doing this I will eliminate the multiple bends and extra length of tubes after the mufflers and when I ever need that the side pipes to work, they will when both motors are energised. Just thinking of it!!

I know that side pipes are going to be extra added weight for nothing but I am trying to find a compromise how I can do them work, be safe and not harm the HP.

What I am a bit unsure is about the motorised butterfly valve. Are such valves reliable? Heat and moving parts (such a little motor) do not think that it will last too long. Maybe I am wrong!!!!!

Any opinion? Thanks

Then there is the if she ever drives it fear. I once had a GF who wanted to drive the Chevy II. When she tried to turn left off a busy street and mat the gas like her Focus the car blew the tires off and spun around. I peed a little I wont lie.

That is the only reason why I am not selling my 85 camaro, so my wife will drive the 85 while I can drive the 78!! She actually likes it more than me

Stupid priced. I have run Badlandz HPE cutouts on two cars now, and not only are they the highest quality cutout made, but have the best guarantee, and least expensive. Or you can buy the Y pipe kit that bolts to your collector, and then bolt the cutout to the extra outlet on the Y. This would work better if you're using them with a side exhaust, as you plan to.
Here's video of a system with Y pipe. Not sure why his are turned in, instead of turned out?

Thanks for your advise, will check on their website. Yes the collectors are to be 3". This was confirmed by Lemons as well by NRE.

Lemens is building you a 3" collector BBC header? Huh? I dont have cut outs on my car. but I did put them on the truck.

LOL Val, I thought the same thing. Only thing I can think of it to use them as noise cancelling. And U Joint cooking!

You think a potentiometer could be used to control the amount of opening?
