Not just a waste of money, but also a waste of time and energy. I know how easy it is to get excited about a build and want to order everything at once. But it usually means you'll get a lot of parts you wish you hadn't purchased, and with your shipping costs, it wont be as easy to return them as it is for us in the USA.
As tough as it is to be patient, it's going to save your hard earned money to wait and see before jumping into all sort of parts ordering.

 

Yes you are right. This year all I need to concentrate is of buying the radiator and fans and the front and rear brakes kit.

Shipping from the USA to my country is something. I had a quote from Classic industries of some parts which cost $300 for parts and $500 or more for shipping. It is absolutely nuts!!!! Plus I have to pay duty and 18% vat on total price. I always S***T in my pants when I receive the shipping bill. I am trying to find a cheaper shipper.

 

Never, Never, Never buy from Classic Industries if you can avoid it unless you live in the states. When we used to buy from them we could take the advertised price, multiply it by 2 and that would be closer to the landed shop. There used to be a muscle car speed shop local here that was a classic distributor, it was a good deal to buy with them and they had a 1.4x multiplier.

 

Man and I complain about shipping from Cali.

 

Need to get a part time job working for UPS or Fed Ex. Employees get huge discounts on shipping!

 

The shipping is F****N crazy. I can build another camaro with the shipping, duty and vat I am paying. This is absolutely stupid but I can do nothing. Just close my eyes and pay. Do you know any classic distributor where I can contact via email?? Maybe I find cheaper shipping? Cheers

 

can you not find someone like Jegs or Summit that sells the same parts? Ask people like 1971BB427 or 77Nomad where the best places to buy parts are in the united states, maybe they offer cheaper shipping?

What I would do is contact the big suppliers like Summit, Jegs, etc. and get as complete a list of what you are planning to purchase from them first. They may give you a break on shipping, parts, or both if they know you're planning a large expenditure. Most of the big suppliers want these large orders, and will try to work with you as much as they can, but not sure once it leaves the USA they will have much control over shipping charges.
