Which engine????

do the 327 and keep the 350. Whatever mods you do the 327, like better heads, intake, cam, headers...etc. Everything will all swap over to the 350 if you ever needed it to. I've seen cranks on eBay for as low as $40 bucks that just need machined. So if you really needed to build the 350 the pistons would work but I think you'll need to find the rods for them though.
By having the 327, you already have more than 75% of the parts needed.
I think this thread has run it's course........all of us are not gonna be happy if you say your gonna rebuild that 305........

If it's the right motor it wouldn't take a lot more than an overhaul and a few added goodies to get you there.
Could save you a ton of money since it's a complete engine.

If the heads are either 194 or 202 heads, then you've got a great start. If not, then I'd start with those. We have a local guy who builds 2.02 heads with new guides, stainless valves, and all the good stuff, and sells them for a mere $300 a set. This is exchange price, but you could call to see what he wants outright for them.

Beyond heads I'd say the usual; cam, lifters, intake, good Holley carb, headers. Shouldn't be much of a problem getting to 400Hp.

the 327 are all siezed up from sitting outside for many years. im not sure what kind of heads the 350 has. how do i find out and how do i find out what year the engine is. i know its in the block numbering but which numbers is it?

If the exhaust manifolds are still on it pull them off and squirt some in there too.
Basically get it in anywhere you can, pull the valve covers off and pour diesel all over the valve springs and soak the heads.
I've unfrozen engines this way that were completely stuck and got them running.

If it's a late 327 (1968-1968) it's the large journal engine,if it's a truck engine it could have a steel crank,a Vette engine could even have 4 bolt mains.
Check it out to see what you got there before you do anything.
