Default Which engine????

hey everyone. ive got a 79 camaro with a 305 in it rite now. i wanna take it out and either put a 327 or a 350 in it. the problem is is that the 350 is just a bare block so i have to get everything to get it going. the 327 is complete but its been sitting under a cover behind a barn for along time so it probably needs to be rebuilt also. Which one should i put my money into?

well if you have a 350, you mise well stroke it out to a 383 to get more power for not much more money. you can get 383 stroker kits on summit racing.

i can probably get the 327 running for practicly nothing though. but wont have as much power as the 350.

personally i would go for the 350, much more common block and replacement parts are easier to come by, not to mention the hp gains

ive heard that the 327 is a pretty snappy motor. not as much hp as the 350 but more than a stock 305 rite?

Sounds like you want to do the 327. If that's what you want, then go for it. Don't see too many 327's on the road.

thats what i was thinking. is it worth taking out the 305 for the 327? ive never driven a car with a 327 in it. i know it would be worth it for the 350.

I think it might be worth it, you would be able to make more power with the 327 than the 305. How much power are you lookin to make?

You can probably make that kind of power with the right stuff.
