Default Hood Issues

I posted this in general tech and got no response, so I thought I would try here:

My Second Gen has a fiberglass cowl hood and I'm having trouble getting it lined up. I have got it adjusted where the hood sits flush next to the hinges and up front by the latch and it isn't even close to touching the adjustment screws. In other words, it is sitting up too high on both front corners, is there any way to fix this without doing mud work or pinning the hood? Swaping out the hinge springs for lower tension springs wouldn't do anything to help right? I am not too familiar with working on fiberglass, I am unsure if I can reshape it without damaging the paint, so I'd appreciate any help...

I put my fiberglass L88 hood on my car yesterday and I had the same problem, I dont have hindges yet so its just sitting way to high in the back, first i took out the ajustment screws and that helped some but now I have problems with the windshield wipers fitting. I have a 81 by the way, Dont know whats up with it. Let me know of any solutions.

Thanks.

i have a new s/s metal hood for my 78 and i had wiper issues .you have to use the factory arms and blades.aftermarket arms and blades were about 1 1/2" taller than factory.i still have to figure out something else for the window washer squirters.

when i say aftermarket i'm talking about the arms and blades you buy at auto zone, ect. those arms and blades were alot taller than the factory stuff.my driver side was alright ,the passenger side would have hit the hood, thats why i went back to the factory stuff
