Thanks! They should look even better polished! Very similar to the Eddy's I had on the 427.

I've been emailing a guy on local CL who had a 9" Ford from a early Bronco for this whole week, and he wouldn't respond back! I was telling my buddy about the deadbeat today, and he asked if I sent the guy my phone number? Well I hadn't, as I just asked him to respond, or send me his number.
So I emailed him again with my phone number and 5 minutes later he called! I ended up running over and getting the 9" Ford rear with new axles and bearings, backing plates, and new shoes, for $100! Still need wheel cylinders, brake springs, drums, and the third member, but I figured I'd never get a complete 9" with the posi and third member ratio I wanted anyway. The Bronco 9" is 53" flange to flange, so almost identical to the stock Falcon. Haven't checked spring perch width, but I don't much care if I need to weld new perches or not. Now I just need that 3rd member to complete it, and I'm ready to rip!

Wish I still had the Ranchero, it was 9". I knew I should have parted it out. Darn!

Yeah, would have been too wide for my Falcon, but still a good candidate for a 2nd gen Camaro swap! Was it posi and a good gear ratio?

Change of plans. The 9" Ford is going back up for sale, replaced by an 8.8" Ford! After doing some research I discovered the 8.8" Ford, which is supposed to be a copy of the 12 bolt Chevy rear end. The Explorers went one step further, as they have larger 31 spline axles (vs. the 30 spline 12 bolt) and 3.25" axle tubes, vs. the 3" tube 12 bolts.
The best part is a complete 8.8" is plentiful, strong, and dirt cheap! I purchased a 8.8" Ford with 3.73 posi for $175 loaded into the truck! Probably would have spent nearly that to get the drums and misc. parts needed to complete the 9", and still need the 3rd member!
They are also disc brake rearends from 1994 on, and earlier are mostly 10"x2.5" drums, with a few in disc.

With the width being almost identical to a 1st gen Camaro, I'm surprised the 1st gen guys haven't picked up on these! They would also make a great rearend for 2nd gens for those who want to run wider tires and would tub their cars. The 59" width is 3.5" narrower than the 2nd gen, and would work perfectly for a mini tub job.

Didn't take long to move the 9" Ford along! Mentioned I got the 8.8" to a friend and his first response was, "Do you want to sell me the 9 inch?"
So it's gone and I'm back to even without having to list it and deal with CL flakes.
