'63 Falcon project
Got a replacement vacuum pump from HF yesterday, and after one squeeze it broke! Identical to the old one that lasted for years, but I decided to step up to a better one after the one stroke and broke thing. Once I got the new Mityvac pump I bled the brakes again. They seemed to be firm before, but after sitting at stop lights I felt the pedal drop a little, so bled them again.
Got the vacuum gauge out and reset the engine timing. Took it for a test run, and feels a lot better, plus idles better. Still very lumpy with this cam, but not so rich. These Hurst street slicks are like driving on ice with the 464 BBC engine! At hit on the throttle (even rolling at 35 mph) simply sets them on fire. Need to get my newly mounted Eagle wrinkle walls on and do a test run to see how they do.

Probably the last dry day for awhile today. Sounds like the rains are coming tonight, and around for awhile! Put the Falcon back in the backyard canopy, and will start doing the winter upgrades soon. Helping my buddy with his Nova A/FX clone project now, so might be a little SBC in his car today, and discovered it's a full roller motor! Solid roller cam and lifters, and Erson roller rockers! Lucky dog! I'm guessing when we get the pan off we'll probably discover 4 bolt main caps too!
Do all the body work.
Finish the carpet and interior work.
Swap out rear leaf springs.
Amber window tint.
Not sure if it will get paint or not. Maybe.

New leaf springs came yesterday. Of course the pictures when I ordered them lied. No bushings on either end. My extra bushings from the '71 Camaro will fit, but need to be narrowed .5" Still need frame and front spring eye bushings, so might order a set from Energy Systems for a newer car and turn them down in my lathe to fit these.
Pulled the reversing switch out of the lathe today and swapped leads so I have forward speeds. It quit running in forward years ago, and I never use reverse, so easy fix to swap it around and get it working for the bushings when they come.
New bushings arrived yesterday morning. These are for a late model GM 4x4 truck, and give me enough for front and rear springs on my Falcon. All are for 2.5" springs, so they needed to be cut down. I checked them for fit in my new rear springs and had to turn down diameter on two pairs to fit the front eye. I also took the others over to my buddy's house to check against the Econoline straight axle we have out of his car for paint, and they fit perfect.
Chucked them all up in the lathe and turned the one set down 1/4", and then cut them all off 1/4" to narrow them. Ready to start installing the new springs, and bushings now.

Added another item to the winter upgrade list today! Scored a Lakewood scatter shield off local CL for $60, so I'll be dropping the trans to swap in the new bellhousing this winter!
Swap meet was excellent today! Bought a 14" 2.5 hp metal cutting chop saw for $25, and the seller threw in 4 blades with it too! Plugged it in before buying it, and it looks and runs like new! Picked up a big bin full of various steel plates, gussets, etc. for $10. Enough to keep me in metal for fab work a long time! Bunch of other small pieces and parts for future projects too!
A couple very tempting cars for sale! One sold just before I saw it; a gorgeous '30 Ford roadster for a mere $10k!!!! And a very clean, nice '56 Chevy 2 dr. sdn. 210 with new engine and new American polished Torque Thrust wheels, and tires for $10,500!!! It just needed interior work to complete, but had new column and gauges already done, and was driven there.
