97 camaro 3.8/GTP top swap
i just bought a 97 camaro with a 3.8 auto. this car is mint. one of the nicest cars i've seen around michigan. no rust! i got it for 1500 dollars! the guy lost his job and i was the first one there! o yeahhhh! but i know it's a little v6. but i have the bright idea of trying to do a gtp top swap. i know i know. there is not a lot or enough room to have the supercharger. but i might be able to modify the firewall to fit the intake on the supercharger. im doing this b/c i dont have enough money for a v8 swap. and my buddy is a GTP freak and has a ton of extra parts!!!! i know its goona be hard, but not impossible... but thanks for reading my idea. any suggestions are welcome. and if anyone has seen this done before please... let me know and links would be helpfull. thanks

If you dont have the money for a V8 swap then the SC swap is going to be out of the question too. It can be done but it has been proven too be a waste of time and money. For the same cost you could go turbo or run a more efficient sc set up that would net you more power with less work.

well my buddy has like 5 differant gtp engines laying around and 3 junk gtp's with engines. so i dont need much money. and ive done turbos before on hondas and i want to try something new. thanks for the input. anyone have any links to people who have done it before?

How about you just dont listen to what we are trying to tell you and do a freaking search and find out for your self. This is asked two or more time a month thats why people get a little angry.
There is a reason only one guy has done it. And that is its not worth the time or effort. You end up having to cut and fab the back of the supercharger in to a 90degree and then into a 75 degree angle. This makes somthing that looks like a flat U from the SC to the TB that kills flow. The guy that did do it ran a LT1 TB and was still having issues. The power was no wear near what he expected and in short was not worth it.
You will also have to figure out some wiring stuff, ecu issues, swap out the heads, fuel rails, cut the wiper shield, cut some more, cut a little more, possible remove half the engine bay, ect ect ect.
If you want to go FI there are a lot of options out there that will work. If you still want to follow up with the GTP thing do some good searches and read up on it. Every one hear has told you the truth.
