94 Z28 camaro optispark Problems

Default 94 Z28 camaro optispark Problems

i purchased a 94 camaro running pretty great... but its my NON-daily driver and well i have decided to do a all bolt on parts swap.. i ordered a optispark from summit for 249. not bad its a non vented.. 1 complaint tho you know how horrible it was finding the tool for this thing just to take off the cap.. here is the size and location where u can get it.. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....store&tool=all

that torx deep well socket will make your job easier.. i am going to do a install tonight on this sucker and any advice you guys can offer i appreciate..

the water pump is new so are the hoses. but these LT1's i dont understand why so many people hate them or say ooo no dont purchase a LT1..

welcome to the forum. the cheap sumit opti s are not the best. better to go with a gm performance or a msd. msd has a adapter that makes it vented.

Welcome to the forum. Try a search in the 4th gen tech section and you'll find too much to read it all about the opti. Do a search for all your questions, they've already been covered in the tech sections.

welcome,,,, go with a gm....... I know," but it cost more" go with a gm.

Default carbon canister removal

Hey craby, i have a question i want to remove the carbon canister thing that is located on the driver side of the engine bay mounted on the front below the ignition coil.. well you know how it has the line that goes from the left header to the right.. i want to take off the entire system basicaly gut it out how will that affect my car and is ok for me to take it off.. would you happen to know?

That carbon canister is just a pump, pumps air into exhaust and into the opti, well on the vented opti's it does. You can take it off but it'll set a code and you'll have the SES light come on and stay on unless you get it turned off in a custom tune. You won't pass emissions without it.
