Default new optispark

so preparing for the cam swap& le ported heads I'm getting a new optispark. My car only has 70k miles but I figure it'd probably be best to change it now anyways. So which of these would be best, if any difference at all?

Accel from Jegs-

or Summit

I have used 2 new GM opti and have not been happy with either one. Stick around, there will be more opinions on this. I think i will try this one next time ....

The car had an Accel when i got it and it seemed better than the GM to me.

what year is your car? the gm performance opti is the one to get. the summit gm opti is ok but are known to fail or not. some will last some will not. thing with a place like summit is you know there not going anywhere and if i remember correctly if the opti fails in the first year they will replace it. msd has a two yr warrenty through summit and are ok but cost more, i have not had problems with msd or gm performace and have a msd in the car with a gm as a backup. i have read that msd are not as reliable but have not experianced any issues with mine.

the quality of the parts inside are the difference. from reading it seems the average life is in the 60k mile range. the full range is 6 to 160k miles.

Accel and Summit are rumered to be the same, GM performance and MSD are used alot, but there will be dirrerent opinions on this subject, need to buy a Quality one and it will probably not be cheap, so if its running good, you may want to leave it alone for now and do some research first. When I put the GM in mine, i did not put the vent kit on, which i regret not doing now, and that is probably why i'm having a performance drop in it, my fault on this one, again. The GM is probably the best for stock. MSD is probably best for performance, so i've read. Note the GM I have came from the dealership.

everything i've read about opti's says the GM one is the best one to get. a lot of the other brands are hit or miss like craby eluded to.
