I just bought a 1997 Chevy Camaro RS! Flew down to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and took it back on the Auto Train....

I am used to an Astro Van and geez does this Camaro SIT LOW!!!!!!!!!!! Mama Mia!

What is that HUMP on the passenger side seat?

I went to sit on the passenger side and there is this big HUMP where I put my feet on the mat....what is that for???????????????????

I seem to hit bumps and it scrapes the front too much..........what the heck! How do you drive this thing without scraping the front????????????

I love the car, but dammit, it sits so low to the ground and I'm worried about if I run over something it will tear the whole bottom off!

What about rain and puddles? this car is so low, how do you handle it??????????????

Got try to avoid the humps ....... this thing is built for speed , not comfort ..... gotta remember that

Have to take entrances and exits at an angle when pulling in and out of places ....


Remeber you are rear wheel drive .............. all the power is directed to the rear wheels ........ so during the rain , take it slow or the back end will whip around ...... especially when taking a curve. Try to avoid large puddles ...... small ones won't hurt , just monitor your speed.

need to look under it. that hump is quite possibly body damage. the undercarriage sheet metal is quite soft. sick

 

Get used to it, go easy over bumps & will like it. The hump in the floor by the passenger seat is there on purpose, to make room for the cat converter under the floor, also keeps the passenger feet warm. Keep the car out of deep water and don't wash the engine as you will wind up nying a new optispark distributor. Just remember that Camaros, water, bumpy roads, curbs, & steep driveway aprons don't go toghether too well. Be very careful in snow, come winter.
